Botanical amulet - ivy

Botanical amulet ~ Ivy ~ symbol of perseverance and tenacity as well as of friendship

Solid silver pendant with a hand-sawn silhouette of an ivy stem.

To make these botanical necklaces, I first sketch and draw the plants and leaves from life, so each one is unique, then transfer the drawing to the silver and hand-cut the shapes with a piercing saw before soldering it onto another layer of silver. The piece is then polished, oxidised, then gently polished again to give it an aged patina.

I have used recycled sterling sheet to make the pendant.
